CLAPHAM JUNCTION, 1988

At 0810 on Monday December 12 1988, 35 people were killed and 484 were injured (69 seriously) following a multi-train collision at Clapham Junction. A crowded train crashed into the rear of a stationary one, resulting a derailment which was struck by an empty train travelling in the opposite direction.
