at Stop & Examine, adopting the ‘There but for the grace of God’ principle, we’re always wary about pointing out poor spelling and grammar.

But that doesn’t worry Richard Holland, who recently spotted this notice (above left) on the King’s Cross concourse.

“Misspelt ‘passengers’ twice, and both times different!” he notes.

Nor does it deter Eric Shufflebot­ham, who tells us: “On a recent visit to Stockport station I spotted this sign [ below left] attached to a barrier. Someone needs to go back to ‘Skool’, and quickly!”

Still in the North West, and there was a different sort of glitch affecting the screens at Salford Central (above right).

“They announced that the 1313 to Wigan Wallgate was cancelled,” reports Y Sinason.

“A minute later they announced it was delayed by 55 minutes. A minute later it turned up! I got on and took a picture of the timetable screen at the next station (Salford Crescent at 1317).”

Meanwhile, at Ely station (below right): “Why have a door?” asks Bill Woolley.
