Broadway to open on Good Friday

The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway is set to open its new Broadway station on March 30 (Good Friday).

The station is entirely new, with the last rails laid before Christmas 2017 to complete the route to Cheltenham racecourse.

As this issue of RAIL went to press, the station building was almost complete, including the riveted steel roof and platform canopy built to the original 1903 design. The first train will be hauled by Great Western Railway ‘Hall’ 4-6-0 steam locomotive 7903 Foremarke Hall.
