Rail projects boost for Morgan Sindall

A series of contract wins in the rail sector helped Morgan Sindall Group increase operating profits in 2017 by 41% to £68.6 million, and turnover by 9% to £2.8 billion.

The company’s rail division won a £20m design and build contract for London Undergroun­d’s Train Modificati­on Unit at Acton, in addition to an £18m deal for electrific­ation works on the Stirling, Alloa and Dunblane lines.

Work is also under way on the Central Enabling Works contract for HS2, in which the company is involved in a joint venture. It is worth £100m over four years.
