NORTH WEST
Buxton: Empty railway land next to the station may be sold for a new retirement home and a £ 20 million hospital ( it was most recently used as a Buxton Water bottling plant). Peak Rail still owns sufficient land to set up a terminus for its line from Matlock.
Horwich: The plan for 158 homes on a section of the old Lancashire & Yorkshire works site has been supported by the town council.
Oxenholme: A notorious flooding hotspot above the entrance to the station, and affecting the subway, has been eliminated by Network Rail engineers at a cost of £ 50,000.
Reddish South & Denton: The once- a- week Parliamentary service from Stockport to Stalybridge is moving from Fridays to Saturdays when the May
20 timetable changes are introduced. The last Friday service will therefore be on May 18.
