Bring back Motorail?

Cars powered by the internal combustion engine are not an environmentally friendly mode of transport. Electricity is the power of the future.

With the advent of electric vehicles on our roads would it be a good time to re-introduce a ‘Motorail’ service between cities?

This service was discontinued in 1995 by British Rail. First Great Western introduced a car carrying service overnight to Penzance in 1999, but closed it again in 2005.
