Bristol: The derelict Royal Mail sorting office alongside Temple Meads station is to be demolished, to make way for a £ 300 million university campus.

Dawlish: The Peninsula Rail Task Force, a body of local authoritie­s and businesses formed to prevent a recurrence of the economic disruption caused by the storms that washed away a section of the main line in 2014, is concerned that the Government has done nothing proactive since investing £ 35 million in its reinstatem­ent.

Mangotsfie­ld: A section of the former Midland Bristol- Bath suburban line, currently a cycleway, is being considered for reopening as the eastern section of the new Bristol Metro.

Marsh Barton: Devon County Council announced in March that funding for opening the new Exeter suburban station could be in place within six months. It could cost £13 million, three times the original estimate.

Parson Street: The closest station to Bristol City football stadium has been cleared of vegetation and smartened up, following complaints.

Pershore: The Oxford- Worcester line station platforms are to be extended by 620 feet.

Theale: Four years after it was built, the £ 2.9 million ticket office is still not in use. It is awaiting its new footbridge, which is due to be completed next year.
