Derby blockade
Network Rail has published timetables for operators affected by the 79-day blockade to allow Derby station remodelling.
The £200 million project means trains run by East Midlands Trains and CrossCountry will be diverted or replaced by buses between July 22 and October 7.
There are separate timetables for EMT services between Sheffield and St Pancras, Matlock and Newark Castle, and Crewe and Derby. The timetables include pick up and drop-off locations for all rail replacement bus services.
They are available at www. derby2018.co.uk, and at affected stations.
A new track layout will be installed, with 79 new sets of points, 55 new signals, and nine new gantries built, while 150,000 tonnes of ballast will be laid. Two new platforms will open on an island built on the former Up and Down Goods Loop.
Galliford Try designed and is building a 320-metre island platform at Derby, under a Control Period 5 framework contract with Network Rail.
The first phase of the station project was to construct the new island with two lifts, a retail shell and waiting room.
From July, more than 33 days into the blockade, the second phase will include demolishing and rebuilding existing platform ends to accommodate the new track layout and reconfigure the telecoms systems.
