EMT to upgrade Spalding station

East Midlands Trains is to upgrade Spalding station, ahead of a £2.5 million programme of works by Network Rail.

Working with the Railway Heritage Trust, the operator plans to reinstate boarded-up windows and restore interior floorboards and ceilings.

Once that work is completed, lifts will be installed at the station along with tactile paving, additional CCTV cameras and improved footbridge lighting.

The project is due to start in September this year and finish in March 2020.
