Story Contracting boosts local skills

Story Contracting is helping local people at its Govan base to develop skills and gain firsthand rail and civil engineering experience.

It is working alongside Apex Scotland, a service assisting those who have multiple barriers to employment or who are longterm unemployed.

The company recently offered a permanent contract to Eddie Kimmins, who spent two weeks working in the Kilmarnock area under the scheme, followed by a three-month trial and then a contract.
