‘755’ undergoes testing at Cambridge

-

Four-car Greater Anglia bi-mode 755407 was moved to Cambridge Coldhams Lane on January 20, for testing and commissioning.

The ‘755’ was taken to the Arriva Traincare depot by Rail Operations Group 37800 Cassiopeia, which hauled it from Norwich Crown Point.

As many as four ‘755s’ will be moved for the work. This was the first time a ‘755’ had been taken to Cambridge, with the other three so far delivered to the UK all still at the Norfolk site.

GA has previously confirmed that trains delivered to the UK could be taken straight to the Cambridge depot, due to space constraints at Norwich.

Class 755s will eventually serve Cambridge on trains from Norwich, as well as IpswichCambridge trains. They enter service this summer, and although GA is not committing to a specific date, it is hoped they will be in traffic from May.
