DRS disbands pool for ‘37/4s’

The XHCC pool used by Direct Rail Services for Class 37/4s hired to Northern has been disbanded, following the end of the contract to supply locomotives and stock to the passenger operator.

DRS has moved 37401 Mary Queen of Scots, 37403 Isle of Mull, 37424 Avro Vulcan XH558 and 37425 Sir Robert McAlpine/Concrete Bob into the general XHAC pool that also contains the ‘37s’ used by Greater Anglia. Of the four, 37403 is hired from Scottish Railway Preservation Society and is due a major exam shortly.

Already in the XHAC pool are 37402/405/407/409/422/423.
