Class 33 and Thunderer to appear at MNR diesel gala

-

The Mid-Norfolk Railway diesel gala on April 5-7 will feature 33202 Dennis G Robinson, prototype High Speed Train power car 41001, 50008 Thunderer and a Direct Rail Services locomotive.

The Class 33 is currently based at the MNR on a commercial contract, as part of the project to install sidings to store new Greater Anglia trains.

The HST power car is based at Ruddington, and will be hauled by the ‘50’ from the Midlands. This will be the first time Thunderer has visited the line.

The ‘41’ was used by the MNR at the end of 2018 to haul ‘Polar Express’ trains, and also attended the railway’s 2016 spring gala.

A rake of Mk 3s used by the 125Group with the power car will also attend, as will residents 47367 and 47596 Aldeburgh Festival.
