EMT or TPE… not XC!

I agree with Roy Marsden ( Open

Access, RAIL 866) that LiverpoolNottingham-Norwich should not be split into two portions (Liverpool-Nottingham and Nottingham-Norwich), but remain as one journey undertaken by one company.

However, I do not agree that it should be taken over by CrossCountry. In my opinion, it is

one of the worst operators on the system, with horrible trains (except for the few High Speed Trains) and a continued insistence on booking seats after the train has left its station of origin.

I would either let East Midlands Trains retain it, or pass the whole journey onto TransPennine Express.

If EMT keeps it they will need new or at least updated trains. The current Class 158s are still good and comfortable, but a journey of that distance needs First Class accommodation.
