DRS ‘37/4’ on IM duties in the North West

- PHIL METCALFE.

Direct Rail Services 37409 Lord Hinton stands at Morecambe on February 1, with a Blackpool North-Derby test train. Locomotive-hauled trains are exceedingly rare on this route, and usually only appear on test trains. DRS Class 37s are being used on Network Rail Infrastructure Monitoring trains in the North West and Scotland, replacing Colas Railfreight locomotives after NR awarded IM deals to other companies. Colas still crewed the DRS locomotives. On the other end of the train was DRS 37218.
