New ScotRail ‘385s’ arrive at Newton Aycliffe

ScotRail 385045 and 385046 stand in the snow at Newton Aycliffe on February 2. The three-car electric multiple units were built at Hitachi’s factory in Kasado (Japan), and shipped to the UK, where they were taken initially to Ashford for checks and commissioning, before being moved north to the County Durham site. On the right is LNER five-car EMU 801106.
