New ScotRail ‘385s’ arrive at Newton Aycliffe

ScotRail 385045 and 385046 stand in the snow at Newton Aycliffe on February 2. The three-car electric multiple units were built at Hitachi’s factory in Kasado (Japan), and shipped to the UK, where they were taken initially to Ashford for checks and commission­ing, before being moved north to the County Durham site. On the right is LNER five-car EMU 801106.
