More ex-GWR Mk 3s scrapped

Six former Great Western Railway High Speed Train Mk 3 coaches arrived at C F Booth’s scrapyard on June 23.

GB Railfreight 66735 Peterborough United delivered the carriages to Rotherham.

Those moved were Trailer

Buffet Standard (TSB) 40118, Trailer Kitchen Buffet First (TFKB) 40803/809, Trailer Buffet First

(TFB) 40901/903 and Trailer First (TF) 41183. Previously stored at Long Marston, they were owned by Porterbrook.

It takes to 168 the number of former GWR, LNER and East Midlands Railway HST Mk 3s sent for scrap over the past 13 months. Of these, 133 were GWR vehicles.
