Rail Live 2020 cancelled… but it’s back in 2021

- Stefanie Foster Deputy Editor stefanie.foster@bauermedia.co.uk

THIS year’s Rail Live, that had been due to take place at Long Marston (Warwickshire) on September 9-10, has been cancelled owing to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 restrictions.

Plans had been under way to move the event onto a virtual platform over the two days. However, it became clear from discussions with exhibitors that the rail industry would prefer not to go ahead with the event this year, but instead to redouble its efforts for a bigger and better Rail Live 2021, when the event is planned to return to its home at Long Marston.

Network Rail Chairman Sir

Peter Hendy CBE said: “In the circumstances, it’s a wise decision to shelve the proposed Rail Live for this year in favour of putting every effort into creating a real showstopper Rail Live for 2021.

“Network Rail continues to support Rail Live 100% and we’re already talking to the RAIL team about how NR can help make the show the very best Rail Live yet.”

Plans are already under way for a return of the live event on June 16-17 2021, when it will be an important opportunity for the entire rail industry to come together in the real railway environment that gives Rail Live its unique quality.
