‘Krokodyl’ eases tunnel workload

A new robot named ‘Krokodyl’ is being used by HS2 main works contractor Align, to remove wooden spacers between tunnel segments and insert connection dowels on the ten-mile Chiltern Tunnels.

By automating the process, the robot removes the need for people to work in a potentially hazardous area.
