Track lowered for Valley Line wires

Transforming the Welsh Valley lines ready for the introduction of the electrified metro service took a step forward over the weekend of October 31-November 1, with track lowered ready for overhead wires to be installed.

Transport for Wales and Balfour Beatty carried out the work on the Aberdare

Line at Old Colliery (between Cwmbach and Fernhill). It involved lowering 200 metres of track to increase the clearance under an overbridge.
