Sheffield derailment

The Rail Accident Investigation Branch is to issue a Safety Digest following the derailment of a Southern train at Bognor Regis on October 22.

The 0505 Bognor Regis to Littlehampton derailed at low speed on departure from Platform 4, at around 0511.

There were around 15 passengers on the train. They were evacuated via the rear portion of Class 313 electric multiple unit 313212, which remained in the platform.

Although a set of points was damaged, there were no injuries.
