EMR takes charge of new sidings
Newly built electrified sidings at Kettering were handed over to East Midlands Railway by Network Rail on November 9.
The following day, the first electric trains that will eventually use the sidings were delivered to
Cricklewood for training. They are expected to visit Kettering by the end of this month.
The new facility features four sidings that will be used for stabling and cleaning. Driver training with the first ex-Greater
Anglia Class 360/1s will begin by the end of November, ahead of their introduction on EMR’s St Pancras International-Corby route from next May, when one additional train will run every hour.
