Fire-damaged Class 47 scrapped

West Coast Railways 47500 has been scrapped. The ‘47’ caught fire at Salford in January 2013 and never returned to traffic. It had been stripped of components at WCR’s Carnforth base, and sent to a scrapyard in Preston.
