NR to replace Norfolk bridge

A life-expired bridge near Norwich will finally be replaced - a year later than planned.

The structure, which carries the Norwich-Great Yarmouth/ Lowestoft line over Oaks

Lane at Postwick, should have been replaced last February. However, the work was prevented by storms and postponed until December.

Network Rail will build the new structure near the site before moving it into place over the Christmas period. Work began on November 16, and should finish on January 21, with trains unable to run on December 27-29.

The new structure will enable the removal of temporary speed restrictions.
