£1.2m on digital signalling studies

The Government has earmarked £1.2 million to examine how to deploy digital signalling on parts of the

West Coast Main Line around Warrington and Wigan, Peterborough to Kings Lynn, and on parts of the Midland Main Line.

The work will identify the most effective way to apply the technology on the railway, paving the way for future digital signalling renewals.
