LSL’s ‘Blue Pullman’

Two years ago, on reading that Locomotive Services Ltd was purchasing an HST set ( RAIL 859), I wrote to express the wish that it might be converted into the form of an iconic Blue Pullman from the 1960s.

I am delighted to see recent reports that, albeit without the remodelling of the Class 43 cab fronts, the set that will be used for luxury rail tours will indeed feature a close match to the original exterior Pullman livery.

I am sure that this will be a striking, distinctive and popular train, and wish LSL every success in running this on many routes.
