King’s Cross is getting better and better every year since its successful redevelopment a few years ago. Old and new are blended in a way that allows it to handle rapidly growing passenger flows - including Harry Potter crowds visiting Platform 9¾- without overcrowding.

Customer service and information flows have hugely improved, and the judges especially liked the display of alternative Great Northern services from St Pancras. King’s Cross is a destination experience in its own right.

Glasgow Central (Network Rail)

Glasgow Central is always highly rated, and standards continue to improve as it holds its own against stations that have had multimillion-pound makeovers.

It’s a station with character that really cares about its customers and copes effortlessly with huge passenger flows.

The enthusiastic staff recently starred in a hit TV series Christmas at Glasgow Central, where they won the hearts of viewers across the region.
