HST power cars leave Long Marston

-

Stored High Speed Train power cars owned by Porterbrook are being moved from Long Marston to Nemesis Rail’s Burton depot for further storage.

The company says the move is to create space at various sites ahead of more trains being sent off-lease.

First to arrive at Burton were former LNER 43277/290, from Barrow Hill. These were destined for East Midlands Railway, but that switch has been cancelled.

They were joined on November 27 by former EMR 43043/064/081/082 from Long Marston, followed on December 3 by EMR 43045, ex-LNER 43061 and ex-Great Western Railway 43079, 43159 (also from Long Marston).

Also included was ex-Greater Anglia Mk 3 Open First (FO) 11088. This leaves one ex-LNER ‘43’ and 11 ex-GWR ‘43s’ still at the Warwickshire site.
