First EMUs arrive at Kettering under own power
The first electric multiple units to run under their own power on the Midland Main Line north of Bedford arrived at Kettering Electric Sidings on November 26, running empty from Cricklewood. East Midlands Railway 360113 led 360104/116 north. They will be used for training ahead of their introduction on the Corby-St Pancras International route from May. Twenty-one EMUs are moving from Greater Anglia to EMR, with eight having transferred already (36 0103/104/106/107/113/116/120/121). When in traffic, they will run in 12-car formations at peak-time and eight-car formations off-peak. They will be refurbished before they enter traffic, losing their 3+2 interiors.
