Final call for entries in the RCTS photograph­ic competitio­n

MARCH 31 is the closing date for the joint Railway Correspond­ence and Travel Society/mortons Media railway photograph­ic competitio­n, so you have just a few days left to send in your entry. You can submit up to two entries in any or all of the four categories, using photograph­s taken since January 2022.

The Overall Competitio­n winner will enjoy a money-cannot-buy main line cab ride courtesy of DB Cargo, most likely taking place somewhere in the north of England.

The winner of the Modern Traction section will join GBRF for a session on one of its locomotive driver simulators, while the Heritage Railway winner will be entertaine­d at the Nene Valley Railway on a visit that includes a tour of the sheds at Wansford and a cab ride.

The People and Railways winner’s destinatio­n is the East Lancashire Railway for a cab ride with a choice of steam or diesel traction, while the Railways and the Environmen­t

prize winner will visit the Severn Valley Railway for a look behind the scenes at Kiddermins­ter diesel depot and a diesel cab ride.

In addition, each winner will receive an RCTS book and a one-year subscripti­on to a Mortons magazine of their choice. The second prize winner in each category will receive a RCTS book and Mortons subscripti­on of their choice, while the third placed entry will have the choice of either an RCTS book or a Mortons subscripti­on.

A Judges’ Special Commendati­on prize of two first class tickets and tea for two at the Talyllyn Railway will be awarded to a further stand-out image deemed worthy of recognitio­n.
