THE Roseate Reading, the only five-star hotel in the town, has been nominated for an award for its luxury offer to visitors and its support of tourism, art and culture and help for the homeless in the town.

The hotel, housed in the historic 1911 Shire Hall built for Berkshire County Council, has been nominated for the Hospitalit­y Award.

Its nominator said: “This historic establishm­ent has redefined the meaning of luxury hospitalit­y” and praised its “outstandin­g contributi­ons” to the local community and tourism industry.

They added the hotel has not only attracted guests from the surroundin­g areas to visit Reading but has also worked in close collaborat­ion with the tourism board to encourage more visitors to explore the attraction­s and culture of the town.

“The hotel actively supports the local art and culture by providing free use of their cinema for upcoming talent, and sponsoring events such as Henry I by Rabble Theatre. They have become a vital pillar in the promotion of local artistic talent.

“The hotel supports the homeless community through food deliveries which exemplifie­s their dedication to making a positive impact of those in need.”

The hotel has set a high standard for excellence and consistent­ly exceeding expectatio­ns, said the nominator, offering a fine dining experie showcases the produce source suppliers.
