Funke and the Two Tone Baby – Can’t Stop the Music

I’m always impressed with solo performers that keep the attention of an audience when they are the only person on the stage. This artist is certainly one of those, as he showed to full effect, entertaining the crowd with his energetic impressive set, at a Club Velocity Reading Show earlier this year.

Kent based Funke and the Two Tone Baby aka Dan Turnbull has just released Reacclimate, a very strong album full of excellent songs that combine blues, funk, dance and more with moving and socially aware lyrics.

This song is from the album and you certainly don’t want to stop the music when it’s as good as this – funkeandthetwotonebaby.co.uk

Mackenzie – Ordinary

Photographer, Andy M, and I went along to a recent Rila’s Edge gig and, unfortunately, we missed the opening act as we also had to pop into another gig.

So many gigs to go to ... a nice problem to have. Anyway, it meant we missed, Mackenzie, the opening act, but we heard good things about this singer from Reading so I checked out her latest single.

Oh my – it’s great. It’s a wonderful uplifting pop rock anthem which I haven’t been able to stop playing. Her other singles are very good too. We’ll definitely make sure we get along to a future live show that’s for sure. – linktr.ee/Mackenzieofficial

Spriggan Mist – Kintbury Witch

To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of their Ghostly Tales album, Spriggan Mist have released this re-recording of a song from that album.

It’s well produced by local soundman Aaron Cilia and the vocals of Fay Brotherhood combined with the band’s Spriggan magic give it an updated fresh feel.

They return to their home town this coming Saturday 11 to headline Bracknell’s Acoustic Couch – www.sprigganmist.com
