VOLUNTEERCORNER

- HE Volunteer Drivers Service was established in April 2012 as a project of Citizens Advice. The service provides the community with additional transportation assistance.

If you have a car, some spare time and would like to make a difference in your local community, the Volunteer Driver Service is seeking more Volunteer Drivers to join them to cope with the demand for journeys in the Berkshire area.

You would be joining an established team of more than 150 volunteer drivers.

Volunteers must have a full driving licence, a very basic understanding of IT, and good people skills.

■ Enrych Berkshire provides people with disabilities extra support to help them to enjoy hobbies, interests and activities of their choosing.

They hope to recruit a volunteer to assist a member who is visually impaired with getting out and about. This member wants to increase social activities such as attending pub quizzes, as well as having additional support to be able to enjoy walks.

This particular member also works full-time. So they would appreciate your support in the evening or on the weekends.

■ Thames Hospice have been serving our community for more than 30 years, and offer palliative and end-of-life care and support to people aged 16 and over across East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire.

They are looking to build a team of ambassadors who can help the Fundraising Team increase awareness of the

Thames Hospice Weekly Lottery and get more people playing.

The Lottery is a key fundraising activity for the Hospice that helps raise vital funds to provide care for patients in and around the community.

Main tasks include: Setting up and staffing the promotional lottery stand at events, Distributing lottery leaflets to event attendees and general public, Guiding interested people through the sign up process, Answering questions about the lottery – how it works, chances of winning, allocation of funds, sign up methods, and more.

Training will be provided.
