Food festival to pop-up in town
FOOD, glorious food… and lots of it. A festival dedicated to all things culinary is returning to Reading town centre, and organisers are promising a giant street party.
The Reading Food Festival will take over Broad Street over the weekend of May 18 and 19.
More than 30 cuisines will be available for people to choose from, and while eating they can enjoy musical entertainment.
The event is organised by Blue Collar Corner and the Reading BID, and is always popular.
Stalls will serve food between 11am and 6pm on both days.
Pop-up kitchens will be provided from: Baldies Bites, Churros Garcia Ltd, Crumps Smoke Shack
Fink Street Food, Heavenly Sausage, Jamaican Patties, Krua Koson, La Real Paella London, Masa Food, Meski’s Ethiopian, Mr Pig Stuff, Peru Sabor, Pigs Pizzas, Pitta Pitta, Polentista
Royal Tandoori, Sultan Gozleme, Tapas Culture, The Berlin Doner, The Curry Man, The Fine Brownie Company, The Spud Wagon, and YayLo.
Entertainment on the Saturday comes from the Phoenix Ukulele Band between 11.30am and 12.30pm, and Natalie Gray from 2pm-4pm. On Sunday, RASPO steel band will perform from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, and swing singer Russell Jones will be on duty from 3pm to 4.30pm.
