FIRST FOREIGNER?
I’m sure I won’t be the first to catch Nigel Shuttleworth’s mistake in the MZ story in RC154. In 1938 Herr Kluge did not ride the first foreign motorcycle to win a TT. That honour goes to OC Godfrey on an Indian way back in 1911, the year Indians came first, second and third in the Senior TT. Also by the time of that DKW victory in 1938 Moto Guzzi had won three TTs with Stanley Woods (Senior and Lightweight races in 1935) and Omobono Tenni (Lightweight TT in 1937).
