TRIUMPH TWINS NEEDED!

- FrankW

The 28th Scottish Classic Motorcycle Show run by Ayr Classic Motorcycle Club will take place at Ayr Racecourse on Saturday 17th June. This year we are adding to the normal entry of 130 classic and racing motorcycles some 50 Triumph Meriden twins, as a tribute to the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Triumph Daytona, 1967-2017.

The Triumphs will be housed in a separate exhibition hall next to the main halls, and the centrepiece will be an original, first year model 1967 Triumph Daytona, supported by up to 50 various Meriden twins spanning all years of production. We hope to make this the largest gathering of classic Triumph motorcycles ever in Scotland.

Last minute entries are still welcome from owners of Meriden twin-engined machines of 350, 500, 650 and 750cc plus, be they original factory spec or specials / customs like Tritons, TriBSAs, Métisses, Cheneys or choppers, bobs, café racers or off-roaders. A parade lap or two will be organised.

The members of Ayr Club will put every effort into welcoming visitors and exhibitors on the day and the gates will open at 10am for this historic event. Entry forms can be downloaded from ayrclassicmc.com or enquiries to showsec@ ayrclassicmc.com Sidney Brierley, RC member This is a great event. Shame we’ll not be able to get there this year. Maybe next!
