MEANWHILE AT THE MOVIES we thought ALITA was a lot like popcorn: temporarily delicious but ultimately unsatisfying; PREACHER S3 is as violent and profane as ever but the plot advances at the speed of a very slow slug; PERFECT CREATURE was a pleasingly quirky steampunk vampire confection; and UNIVERSAL SOLDIER REGENERATION was deliciously daft – and it made a change to have two actual blokes thumping each other instead of CGI monsters thumping each other…
