Coldplay got it partly right with their famous lyric, as this season yellow is everywhere, but in flashes, brightening up darker palettes. Spotted in London restaurants such as Dickie Fitz and China Tang, it’s a continuation of the holiday vibe we’ve been seeing all year, the feeling that your home should always be a place of warmth and relaxation. Use sparingly, but to great effect – see how the primrose linen and mustard bowl enliven the greys and taupes, bursts of sun in an overcast sky, reminders that happiness can break through at any moment.
