BUILD YOUR OWN VISION BOARD

-

Keep your dreams at the forefront of your mind by making a vision board. Carrie tells us where to start...

1

BEGIN WITH A DREAMING SESSION

Set aside half a day to let your dreams run wild. Don’t worry about what is unreasonable or unrealistic – just think about all the things you’d love to do or achieve, then write them all down.

2

COMPILE PICTURES TO REPRESENT YOUR DREAMS

Whether it’s a fabulous house, a screenshot of someone’s Instagram with your ideal number of followers, or a beach in the Maldives, find images that reflect what you want. You can draw pictures, too – do whatever is most pleasing to you so that you’ll want to look at it.

3

USE QUOTES THAT REMIND YOU TO KEEP GOING

On my board,

I have the quote, “Whatever is on this board is” – meaning that whatever is on my board will become my reality. I also put the word “trust” in big letters, to remind me that I am capable of making them happen.

4

PUT THE BOARD SOMEWHERE YOU CAN SEE IT

Even if you look at it for just 30 seconds at a time, make sure you revisit it every day. Stand in front of it, take a deep breath, and remind yourself of what you’re aiming towards.

5

RE-EVALUATE REGULARLY

Whenever I achieve something, I take it off the board and replace it with a new dream – you can keep the old ones in a safe place to remind yourself how far you’ve come. Don’t be afraid to edit your vision board at regular intervals; sometimes what you think you want doesn’t resonate any more six months down the line.
