I believe lifestyle and skin health go

hand in hand, so taking some time for self-care after work is just as important to me as removing my make-up. I find it hard to switch off in the evening,

but I feel less wired if I’ve squeezed in a few pockets of calm throughout the day, whether that’s leaving my desk to eat lunch outside or going to a yoga class. As much as I love trying different

beauty products, my skin isn’t always a fan. I generally don’t cleanse until bedtime, but if my skin’s feeling sensitive, I’ll do it as soon as I get home. Murad Soothing Gel Cleanser, £30, removes make-up and dirt without causing any irritation.

I’m not bothered about laughter lines or forehead wrinkles, but I do want to wake up looking refreshed. I layer moisturising gels and water-based products with facial oils to hydrate the deeper layers of my skin and lock in moisture overnight. I’m getting good results from Clarins HydraEssential Bi-phase Serum, £44, or Vichy Minéral 89 Hyaluronic Acid Booster, £25, with Trilogy Rosehip Oil, £19.50. Journalling is a soothing way to disconnect my mind from daily stresses.

Before going to bed, I jot down my to-do list and any ideas or worries I have. Putting pen to paper is therapeutic, so I never want to lose the art of writing by hand.

I don’t ban blue light, but I don’t respond to work emails in the bedroom. If I have to answer anything urgent, I’ll physically take the phone out of the room before I do. The smallest glimmer of light wakes me

up, so I wear my Holistic Sleep Eye Mask, £55 – an adjustable strap blocks everything out and it’s made from silk and cotton velvet, so it doesn’t leave marks on my face.
