EDITOR’S LETTER

- Editor Sarah Tomczak

…pick up my phone less and books more. Swap my first double-shot coffee of the day for raw apple cider vinegar and honey. Stop thinking the worst (page 48 should help). Put more money into my pension. Breathe in the sea air every morning (I’ve finally moved to the coast!). Have more sex. Buy fewer dresses (who am I kidding?). Remember, as our cover star Nadiya Hussain points out, ‘A lot of living well just comes down to being nice to one another.’ Ask myself the three career questions on page 47 (and then subscribe to The Step Up Membership Club with Red’s exclusive discount). Be less distracted when I’m playing with my kids. Have bigger adventures (you, too? Book one of our 25 best spas for 2020 from page 89, or a tailored Red Escape from page 166). Stop saying yes when I really mean no (find out how on page 25). Eat less meat (and more of Donna Hay’s Super-quick Super-green Soup, page 116). Invest in homeware I truly love (‘buy well, cry once’). Diet when I want to (yes, page 148!). Stop to ask myself, ‘Who am I really?’ (Yet know, as Sarah Hepola so beautifully puts it on page 32, ‘The point is not to solve the riddle, but to marvel at its complexity.’) Refuse to beat myself up when things don’t go perfectly (because, chances are, no one else has noticed anyway). Have more spontaneous meet-ups with my friends. In fact, do everything more spontaneously.

Live fearlessly. Love fiercely.

Wishing you all this and more, too.
