THE BEAUTY INFLUENCER
RED’S BEAUTY DIRECTOR EVE CAMERON SHARES SOME OF HER FAVOURITE THINGS
Red’s best beauty finds this month
FLYING COLOURS
Feline flicks are always chic, but it’s hard to resist the allure (and sheer joyfulness) of the autumn runways’ rainbow-shaded eyes. Leaning into this exuberant new mood is easy with Dior’s Rouge Trafalgar and Denim eyeshadow quintets (a grown-up take on pinks and blues respectively) and Urban Decay’s purple-hued Naked palette, while single pigments by Depixym and OPV Beauty are versatile and vibrant on all skin tones. If bold colour blocks feel too intimidating, try gentle strokes of colour close to the lash line, or pair a subtle base with a flash of turquoise eyeliner, as seen at Ulla Johnson. Play, then team with clean, fresh skin and neutral lips.
HOLDING BACK
Always a believer that less is more,
I’m seeing a new minimalism in skincare. That can mean using fewer, yet multifunctional products with high-performance ingredients: cue Strivectin Super-c Retinol Brighten & Correct Vitamin C Serum, £62, which contains two key skin texture and clarity improvers in one potent blend (they’re not an easy combination to formulate with). Paring back is also wise if you have sensitive skin, as product overload only makes matters worse. Farmologie by Childs Farm’s oat-laced Unfragranced Moisturiser, £3.49, is all you need to keep easily irritated skin calm and comfortable.
THIS MONTH I’VE BEEN…
Diy-ing my brows with B.bare Home Brow Lamination Kit, from £60. There are lots of steps, so it’s a bit of a faff, but it’s entirely doable and gives full, feathery results that last a couple of weeks (kudos to Chantelle Thompson, who launched her brow brand as we went into lockdown). Another discovery is Maybelline Brow Extensions, £9.99. Available in six colours, this fibre-packed gel in a solid crayon fills and builds thicker but beautifully natural-looking brows.
