THE FASHION INFLUENCER
RED FASHION DIRECTOR OONAGH BRENNAN SHARES HER STYLE FAVOURITES
Red’s pick of what to wear now
JEAN TREND
The new shape for jeans is high-cut, with a feminine, paper-bag waist and tapered legs. My money is on a pair in a cool grey acid wash from IRO. I’ll wear them with a cosy knit and snow boots.
SEE CLEARLY NOW
I took a tip from the experts at Tortoise+black, my go-to online service for prescription frames, to try something new. I chose clear blush frames in an aviator style, inspired by those worn by activist Gloria Steinem in the 1970s (was anyone else obsessed by Rose Byrne’s portrayal of her in Mrs America?, above left). They add a retro edge, cast a rosy glow on my winter skin and make a subtle style statement.
SWAP SHOP
Onloan is an exciting new rental shopping experience set to change the way we consume clothes. From £69 per month, members can borrow from a carefully curated collection of current and past-season pieces, featuring some of the coolest labels around, including Shrimps, Stine Goya and Joseph. Borrow, wear, enjoy, return and then swap for something new. It’s a simple, sustainable and satisfying way to keep your wardrobe fabulous.
TAKE A BOW
I have a long-standing love affair with ribbons. Velvet, grosgrain and satin, in all shades from black to blush, I tie them in my hair and around the collars of everything from denim shirts to the plainest sweaters. I’m obsessed with Camilla King’s velvet and satin selection in lemon, midnight-blue and rose.
SOME BODY TO LOVE
Ideal for lounging, bodies are soft and cosy while giving a sleek silhouette. I’m currently fixated on Dodo Bar Or’s striped styles, perfect with jeans and joggers now, or shorts and maxi skirts when it’s warmer.
