Styling a mantelpiece can be a challenge. You’ll often hear that an odd number is best, but symmetry can be more relaxing to the eye, so put matching candlesticks at either end to create a calming effect. To make a statement, stick to groups of three, mixing items so heights vary, and use colours that tone.
