GETTING THERE
I made the 112-mile journey between two Relais & Châteaux hotels in the Citroën C5 Aircross Hybrid. I’ve always liked electric cars for their zero emissions, but get ‘range anxiety’ about them running out of juice. This hybrid claims to do 31 miles on battery alone – and with a 1.6-litre petrol engine, too, I felt confident about making a longer trip. I loved the regenerative braking (tops up the battery on the move), and the sleek styling. If more hybrids are like this one, count me in!
