POCKETS OF INSPIRATION

-

While our January issue was on sale, different parts of the UK fluctuated between various states of lockdown. While everything felt so uncertain, we’re pleased that many of you found the pages of Red to offer some inspiration or respite. Niki Sykes got in touch with us. ‘Having fallen into something of a lethargy trap as a result of lockdown and all things 2020, I just wanted to take a moment and say thank you for the newest edition of Red, as it always makes me smile,’ she wrote. ‘On my initial flick through, two of your articles already stand out for me. The first is Can You Change Your Life In An Hour?, and, starting tomorrow, I shall be trying the advice of getting out of bed 10 minutes earlier. Over the course of the next year, I will see where that leads me. Watch this space! Second, The Best Books

Of 2020 is pinned on the board above my bed to inspire me to get the grey matter back in shape and re-engage with my love of reading.’

Lisa Best also got in touch to tell us how inspiring she found MP Dr Rosena Allin-khan’s account of 2020. ‘Her resilience and commitment to helping others as a doctor and an MP, while bringing up her kids and caring for her parents in the most difficult circumstances during Covid-19, should be loudly lauded,’ she wrote. ‘Reading her account of the difficult things she’s had to do this year makes me forever grateful to the healthcare professionals who make the NHS the beating heart of the UK. Dr Allin-khan is a fantastic example of someone driven to do the right thing and

I’d love to see her political career empower her to achieve those goals.’
