Former Red cover star Keeley Hawes takes the lead opposite Hugh Bonneville in this heartfelt true story about Roald Dahl and his Hollywood actress wife Patricia Neal. As Dahl’s career flourishes, the couple decide to retire to the countrysid­e with their growing family, but are soon struck by tragedy when their eldest daughter, Olivia, aged seven, suddenly dies. Dickens’ classic novel Oliver Twist gets a modern makeover in this contempora­ry drama film set in the heart of London. Twist (played by newcomer Rafferty Law, son of Jude Law) is a young artist living on the streets who joins a group of teenage hustlers to try to help steal a priceless painting. But will all go to plan? Also starring two-time Academy Award winner Sir Michael Caine as Fagin and Game Of Thrones’ Lena Headey as Sikes, it looks as if we’re in for a treat. On Sky Cinema from 29th January

MALCOLM & MARIE

This new romantic drama was written, directed and produced by Sam Levinson and filmed during lockdown, with the cast and crew quarantine­d during shooting. Starring Zendaya and John David Washington as couple Marie and Malcolm, this film kicks off just as they return from the premier of a movie that Malcolm has directed. While they await what’s sure to be positive reviews, the evening turns sour when the couple start discussing past relationsh­ips, and revelation­s are brought to the surface. Something tells us this celebrator­y night might end badly… On Netflix from 5th February

THE DIG

Based on John Preston’s novel of the same name comes this historic drama about one of Britain’s most famous archaeolog­ical digs in Sutton Hoo, Suffolk. This story follows Edith (Carey Mulligan), a wealthy widowed farmer who hires Basil, an amateur archaeolog­ist (Ralph Fiennes), to excavate strange mounds on her estate that she believes are hiding treasure. As the country prepares for the Second World War, Basil and his team of excavators (including Lily James) make a major historic discovery beneath the soil. On Netflix from 29th January
