MANTLE GLOW & GUA SHA WITH RUUBY £95, London, Cotswolds, Surrey and Kent (60 minutes)
Mantle is a brand that Red adores for its ability to balance and transform all skin types, using ferments, ceramides and CBD alongside actives such as azelaic acid and retinol. At-home facials are available via beauty service Ruuby, including this vigorous workout for tired faces, using a gua sha massage stone to deftly drain and sculpt. Ideal for a pre-event pick-me-up, it leaves you looking and feeling alive.
ORVEDA GLOW IS THE NEW LIFT AT HARRODS £210, London
(60 minutes) This biotech brand believes that modern skin is often overprocessed by machinery and acids. Instead, expect manual massage techniques, acupressure, lymphatic drainage and all manner of flicking, fluttering and tapping. Orveda is a luxury skincare house so this facial is archetypically luxurious, too. Red floated out afterwards; drunk on velvety blankets, botanical aromas and expensive, feathery textures, with skin polished to a sleek-looking gleam.
SKINWORK SOHO CITY CLEANSE FACIAL £165, London
(65 minutes) Based in the heart of Soho, this salon makes the perfect stopgap in a busy day. What it lacks in creature comforts – the utilitarian treatment rooms are all in the basement – it makes up for in efficacy. Here, pore extraction, microdermabrasion and a lactic and mandelic acid peel removes blackheads, reduces pigmentation and boosts brightness.
EMMA HARDIE LIFT & SCULPT FACIAL £95, Surrey (60 minutes)
Emma Hardie’s original ‘natural facelift’ is so revered by beauty editors that it led to the creation of an entire botanical skincare brand. Using a draining and lifting technique to sculpt, detoxify and release muscle tension, it’s a holistic treatment that leaves faces glowing with natural health and contours elevated (albeit temporarily) in a way you’d expect from machines.
