Bryan eases home for Hallcroft win

MARK Bryan was the star of the show when at New Packet Angling Society’s latest match at Hallcroft Fishery on Sunday, writes Peter Ware.

The event, which attracted a field of 25 members, was staged on the Bridge Pool where Mark eased home with a fine winning return of 135lb 1oz.

Sizeable carp dominated Mark’s catch with 14 fish to 12lb, all of which fell to pole and pellet shallow at outer bank peg 19.

Result: 1) Mark Bryan 135lb 1oz, 2) Keith Hague 64lb 5oz, 3) Mark Cordall 55lb 13oz, 4) Paul Hague 52lb 14oz.

Next match – Saturday, April 27 at Wetlands Fishery at Sutton cum Lound where the draw time at the site cafe is 8.45am.

SPRINGVALE LAKES

There was an excellent turn-out of 72 anglers for the latest Over 50’s match at this Bevercotes complex, the Thursday event being spread over four lakes.

Carp dominated the day with over 100lb topping each lake with pole and maggot the form method, particular­ly down the edges.

First Spring: Pete Lawson 124lb 8oz (peg 8). Oak Avenue: Dean Bennett 101lb 11oz (peg 12). Duchess: Alan Atkinson 132lb 6oz (peg 2). Golden No.1: Brian Cox 109lb 8oz (peg 20).
