The Shoei RYD helmet is brand new for 2017 and has been wind tunnel-designed to help reduce rider fatigue by being exceptionally aerodynamic and light, as well as having vents to drag air through the helmet cleanly. It comes in four shell sizes and features a removable 3D lining as well Shoei’s latest quick-release visor system. There are recesses around the ears to allow for comms systems, or pads to fill them if you don’t intend to use one. The visor comes with an anti-mist Pinlock insert and seals shut for a quieter, warmer ride. Shoei say the RYD is aimed at streetfighter and naked bike riders but it’s equally suitable for riders of sportsbikes and tourers. The helmet sits one place above Shoei’s entry-level Qwest in the firm’s full-face model line-up.
